1. Before installing this product in the ground, be sure to cleanup the outer surface of the device.
2. Insert soil moisture sensor in the ground not less than 2/3. Ensure maximum exposure to the topside of the unit. Check for absence of water on a soil moisture sensor.

Haven’t tried but it’s all there. Have purchased before and they are great to keeping an eye on humidity and temperature of your plant’s soil. Also handy if you share watering duties as a way to minimize overwatering.
It looks like it's pretty well built. Has a nice silicone cover to help with waterproofing. Runs on 2 AA batteries, should last maybe a year.
